Reading announcements and news

View the organization's announcements and newsletters, react with a like and take part in polls.

Updated: June 25, 2026

The News tab collects every announcement and newsletter the organization sends to parents: from a holiday notice to an invitation or an important change. Some messages include photos, attachments or a poll you can vote in.

Where to find it

Open the app → News tab at the bottom. At the top you can switch between Announcements and Newsletters.

Step by step: reading a message

  1. Open the News tab.
  2. Tap a message in the list to open it in full.
  3. Read the text; tap a photo to view it full-screen, or an attachment to open it.
  4. If the message has a poll, pick your answer to cast your vote.
  5. Tap the heart to show you've read and appreciated it; via the speech-bubble icon you can leave a comment (when that's enabled).

Search, favourites and archive

  • Use the search box at the top to find a message by keyword.
  • Mark a message with the star as a favourite to find it again quickly.
  • Older messages live under Archive; turn that view on to show them.

Tips

  • Turn notifications on and you'll be alerted as soon as there's a new announcement — no need to keep checking yourself.
  • Which messages you see depends on your child's class or group: some messages are only for certain groups.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I see a message another parent doesn't? Announcements can target a specific class or group. You see what's intended for your child's group.

Can I comment on every message? Commenting and liking are only possible when the organization has enabled them for that message.

What's the difference between announcements and newsletters? Announcements are short notices; newsletters are larger editions published periodically.

Troubleshooting

  • I see no news. There may be no messages yet, or your view is on Archive — switch back to the regular list.
  • A photo or attachment won't open. Check your internet connection and pull the list down to refresh.
  • I can't like or comment. Then the organization hasn't enabled reactions for that message.
