Payment requests are separate, one-off requests to pay — for example via Tikkie, ING, Rabobank or iDEAL. They are entirely separate from your Stripe subscriptions: use them for a one-off contribution, an outing or a bill that doesn't fall under a running subscription. You first connect a payment provider and then compose requests.
Where to find it
Sidebar → Finance → Payment requests. This page is only visible if the payment requests module is on and you have the manage billing permission.
Step by step: connect a provider
- Click Add to configure a new provider.
- Choose the provider type: Tikkie (ABN AMRO), ING, Rabobank or iDEAL.
- Give the connection a recognisable name.
- Enter the requested credentials (depending on the type: API key, app token, client ID or client secret).
- Set the settings if needed (redirect URL, webhook URL, notification email).
- Click Verify to test the details against the provider, and save.
Step by step: compose a request
- Create a new payment request.
- Pick the provider and fill in the basic details, the amount and the content (Dutch and optionally English).
- Save — you can then share the request and track its status in the list.
Managing the list
In the overview you filter by status (active, inactive or expired) and by provider, and search with the search box. Per request you can edit, synchronise (fetch the status from the provider), download the QR code, or delete the request.
Tips
- Mark your most-used provider as default, so it appears first on new requests.
- Use Synchronise to see whether a request has been paid, instead of asking manually.
- Give providers and requests clear names — it saves searching in a long list.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference with Payments? Payments is about subscriptions and donations via Stripe (recurring flows). Payment requests are separate, one-off requests via Dutch banks or iDEAL.
Do I need Stripe for payment requests? No. This module works with your own bank/iDEAL provider and is independent of the Stripe connection.
Does the money come to us? Yes, via the bank account linked to your provider.
Troubleshooting
- I get a "feature not enabled" message. The payment requests module is off for your organization. Ask your lead administrator to enable it in the organization settings.
- I don't see the page in the sidebar. The module is off, or you lack the manage billing permission.
- Verification fails. Check your credentials; one wrong field (API key, token, client ID/secret) makes verification fail.
- The status is wrong. Click Synchronise to fetch the current status from the provider.
