Widget screens let you set up displays for TVs or monitors in your building — for example in the entrance hall or café. Per screen you choose a resolution and assemble a list of widgets that rotate.
This page requires the Widget screens module (enableWidgetScreens) and the Manage settings permission (manage_settings). If the module is off, you're sent back to the dashboard.
Where to find it
Sidebar → Data & content → Widget screens.
Step by step: creating a screen
- Click New screen and give it a name.
- Pick a resolution from the presets (Full HD, HD, 4K, portrait variants, ultrawide or legacy such as XGA/SVGA) — or enter a custom width and height. The aspect ratio is calculated automatically.
- Optionally mark it as the default screen.
- Save and click Configure to add widgets.
Available widgets
- Prayer times and Weather (with a location).
- Announcements, Events and Holidays.
- Clock, Logo, News, Video, Image carousel and a QR membership widget.
Actions per screen
- Preview — open a full-screen preview to see how it looks live.
- Edit / configure — add and order widgets.
- Duplicate — copy a screen including its widgets.
- Pause / resume — temporarily stop a screen.
- Delete — with confirmation.
What you see in the list
Per screen: name, status badges (default / inactive), resolution and aspect ratio, the number of widgets, the number of views and when it was last updated.
Tips
- Pick the resolution that matches the physical screen (a portrait display? use a portrait preset).
- Use Preview before hanging a screen, so there are no surprises.
- Duplicate a well-configured screen as a base for a second location.
Frequently asked questions
How do I connect a real TV to a screen? Open the screen's public display URL in the browser of the TV or media player; the content refreshes automatically.
Where does the data come from? The announcements, events and holidays widgets show the content you create elsewhere in the portal.
Troubleshooting
- Why don't I see this page? The Widget screens module (
enableWidgetScreens) is off. A lead admin enables it in the organization settings; you also need the Manage settings permission. - A widget stays empty. Check that current content exists (for example upcoming events) and that the related module is on.
- The screen shows nothing on the TV. Check the TV's internet connection and that the screen is set to active (not paused).
