On the Affiliated organizations page you manage the organizations under your umbrella. You can create new organizations, invite local admins, and per organization edit settings or unlink it. You need the koepel_manage_children permission (to create, link and unlink) and koepel_edit_child_settings (to edit settings).
Where to find it
Sidebar → Umbrella → Affiliated organizations.
Creating an organization
- Click New organization.
- Enter the Name.
- Enter the Slug — this is the web-address part (lowercase letters, digits and hyphens only, e.g.
amsterdam-noord). - Click Create. The organization is automatically placed under your umbrella; you don't pick an umbrella yourself.
Inviting a local admin
- Next to an organization in the list, click Invite admin.
- Enter a username, name and (optionally) an email address.
- Click Invite. The portal shows a generated password once — pass it to the new admin a single time; it is stored nowhere.
- The new admin gets no permissions yet. You grant those later via user management in the local organization.
Viewing or editing an organization
- Click View on an organization to open its detail page, with key figures and inspection cards to the (masked) detail lists.
- If you have the right to edit settings, you see a Management block at the bottom with Edit settings (name, branding, languages and features) and Unlink from umbrella.
Unlinking an organization
- Open the organization via View.
- In the Management block, click Unlink from umbrella and confirm.
- The organization keeps existing, but is no longer under federated management. No data is deleted.
Tips
- Pick a short, recognizable slug — it appears in the organization's web address.
- Copy the generated password immediately; the dialog shows it only once.
What can and can't I do?
- You can: create organizations, unlink them, invite local admins and edit an organization's settings (name, branding, languages, features and active/inactive).
- You cannot: change an organization's slug, type, umbrella link or billing — those fields are deliberately ignored.
- You cannot: delete an organization. Deletion is reserved for a super admin; no umbrella permission grants this.
- You cannot: give a local admin more rights than you have yourself. That is why an invited admin starts with no permissions.
- You cannot: view full personal data of an organization — the detail lists are masked.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my new admin have no permissions? For safety: you cannot give someone more rights than you have yourself. Grant the rights afterwards, deliberately, in the local organization.
What happens to the members if I unlink? Nothing — the organization and all its data keep existing. Only the umbrella link disappears.
Can I link an existing standalone organization? Linking/unlinking runs through the umbrella; adding an existing organization to your umbrella may require a super admin.
Troubleshooting
- The "New organization" button is missing. You lack the koepel_manage_children permission. Ask a super admin to grant it.
- Creation fails because of the slug. Use only lowercase letters, digits and hyphens, at least 2 characters, and choose a slug that doesn't exist yet.
- I can't edit settings. You need the koepel_edit_child_settings permission for that.
