Managing notifications

Your list of automatic admin alerts — filter, read, mark as read and clean up.

Updated: June 25, 2026

The notifications page collects automatic alerts that need your attention: a new complaint, a registration awaiting approval, a dossier note from a teacher, and more. Four counter cards at the top show the total, unread, urgent and today.

Where to find it

Sidebar → General → Notifications. A bell with a counter at the bottom of the sidebar opens a quick overview.

Which notifications do you get?

  • New complaint received.
  • Complaint overdue — a complaint has been left unresolved.
  • New dossier note added by a teacher.
  • New registration awaiting approval.
  • Student needs attention — a signal from a lesson observation.
  • Payment received or payment overdue.
  • Trial ending soon — a renewal reminder.

Filtering

Above the list are three filters:

  1. Type — all, or one of the kinds above.
  2. Priority — all, urgent, high, medium, low.
  3. Status — all, unread or read.

There is no free-text search here; use the filters to narrow down.

Step by step: handling an alert

  1. Click a notification to jump straight to the source item (the complaint, registration or dossier).
  2. Or tick the checkbox to select several at once.
  3. Click Mark as read to hide the "new" marker (items stay in the list).
  4. Click the trash icon to remove an alert from your list for good — this asks for confirmation first.

Sound and desktop notifications

In the bell overview you can toggle sound on or off. To also get desktop pop-ups when the tab is closed, grant permission via the prompt the portal shows. Fine-tune per type under Preferences → Notifications.

Tips

  • Clear the urgent counter daily — those sit at the top with a red marker.
  • Mark as read what you've seen but want to keep; only delete what is truly handled.

Frequently asked questions

Do members get these notifications too? No. These are admin alerts. Members, parents and teachers get their own notifications in the mobile app.

Why don't I hear a sound? Sound is off per browser/device until you enable it in the bell overview.

Troubleshooting

  • I'm not receiving a certain type. Check your notification preferences (per channel) and whether the related module is on.
  • No desktop notifications. Your browser hasn't granted permission — allow notifications in your browser settings.
